If you're gonna jump, then jump far, fly like a sky diver
If you're gonna be a singer, then you better be a rockstar
If you're gonna be a driver, then you better drive a race car
Cause I'm looking for a guard dog, not buying a chihuahua.

Statistics:

Name: Marjorie "Maisie" Irene Cattermole
Birthday: (Date & age) Febuary 20, 1982, 22
Blood: Halfblood; her mother is a muggle-born and her father is a half blood
Former house: Hufflepuff (1992-1999), but she and her family left England for France in 1998. Maisie went to Beauxbaton for a semester before dropping out and not going back
Sexual orientation: Straight! except for that one time and fairly easy!
Marital Status: Currently has a live in boyfriend, Darin, and they sort of don't really like each other all that much, but they're used to each other and the sex is good so she's like whatever.
Nationality: British
Hometown: Ipswich, Suffolk, England
Residence: 215 Euphoria lane Flat 1A
Occupation: Reserve Chaser for Puddlemere United. (She thinks she's awesome enough to be starting already, and in her opinion it's their loss every game they keep her on the bench)
Financial Status: She provides enough for herself, and she's fiercely independent so she's not likely to ask to borrow money, but since she's living with someone she has more money for trivialities.
Political Affiliation: Definitely good guys, but she was too young to be active in any war, but she definitely subscribes to the good guy's philosophy.
Social stereotype: The Feminist Quidditch Reservist
Height: 5'7"
Distinguishing marks/features? Maisie's blonde now, but she's had many different colors and shades to her hair. She also has a few marks and scars from her extremely active childhood and her stubbornness about Healers.
Personality:
Maisie is a bundle of things. It's sometimes hard to know which mood a person can get on a specific day. She's not crazy or anything, but she can have many contradictory facets to her personality. First and foremost, Maisie's always been a bit of a cynic. There's no telling where she picked it up. Her mother and father while having their serious sides really had a bit of a sunny disposition to them. Also, while she isn't a complete misanthrope she's come to the conclusion that a great many people are simply not worth the time and investment you put into them. The people who have shown to be, however, tend to gain a friend or at least respect for life.

Maisie also deals with bouts of stubbornness, ill-temper, broodiness, and bitter sarcasticness. As a child and teenager the only person who tended to be able to get her out of one of her moods was her sister Ellie. Maisie adores her, and while she'd never actually choose a family member she likes the most, Ellie is definitely the one that gets her the most regardless of their differences. Ellie has a pretty sunny disposition, and Maisie might roll her eyes at her to save face, but it's normally while trying to fight back a smile.

Overall, Maisie tends to be fairly laid back. She deals with most of her anger on the quidditch pitch. She plays chaser, but she won't lie and say it doesn't feel good to get a beater's bat and hit some bludgers from time to time. The friends Maisie does possess tend to be a lot like her. She's not very open-minded about friends. That said she's not discriminatory on basis of sex, race, blood status, ect. But she doesn't particularly like to socialize with those who constantly challenge her worldview. She normally loves nothing more than to cut up with her friends. She's loud (extremely so), tends to be more unPC than most, and has an ability to speak unpleasant truths in a rather blunt way.

Still while Maisie dismisses many people out of hand she has serious issues with being alone. She can be physically alone, but if she knew there wasn't someone she'd definitely freak out. This is most commonly seen in her dating habits. Maisie's first boyfriend was right before her fifteenth birthday. She lost her virginity six months later, and she really hasn't had a substantially long time of single hood since. She's normally gone from relationship to relationship, which isn't good, because she's incredibly bad at it. She knows early on it's not going to work, but tends to keep them around, because they're not really offensive and it's too much energy and drama to call it off. Usually it blows up in her face. Massive blowout fights of breakups, or she ends up cheating, or something. It's not good. She's not exactly sure what she'd do if a guy actually said he loved her. She'd probably take off thinking he was clearly insane.

Maisie was raised in a house where her parents decided that their muggle heritage was important. She went to a muggle school before Hogwarts. They went to parks, movies, read muggle and magical books, and had a television and a wireless. Maisie loves this part of her upbringing and of herself. From time to time she'll forget the world she's in and make a connection to the muggle world that not everyone will understand, but she doesn't really mind.

Maisie is also currently trying to get back into better grace with her family. After they fled England for France, Maisie let her anger at the situation be known. She was a bit rebellious, she fought her parents, and she didn't finish school. By the return to England everything was forgotten she still feels as if there's a rift there, whether it's true or not.

Maisie is smart. She made really good grades in Hogwarts. These grades plummeted once she got to Beauxbatons. She regrets not finishing school. Especially considering how close she was to finishing her education, but that issue has made her one of the person she is today, and that's all that matters.
History:
Mary Landon met Reginald Cattermole at Hogwarts, and while it was an instant attraction for Reginald, Mary really didn't notice him for a while. Instead she dated one of the chasers from the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. This relationship lasted over a year to Reggie's annoyance. It wasn't until one day in a potions class he finally had his chance.

Mary and her boyfriend were over. After a spilled truth serum which got both parties admitting all sorts of things they didn't like about each other the couple split to never even look at each other again. The mutual giving back of possessions was actually carried out by their friends. This was Reginald's chance. At first Mary really didn't want much to do with him, but she eventually relented and went with him on a Hogsmeade weekend. The pair was together until school let out and beyond.

Upon leaving school Reginald got a low entry level position at the Ministry of Magic, and Mary got a job as a clerk in Diagon Alley. They saved and eventually got a place together. There wasn't any rush to the relationship until the first war started. Mary and Reginald got eloped like so many other couples. They also kept as low a profile as possible, and flat out refused to have children in such trying times.

When the war ended, Reginald and Mary returned to their lives. Reginald actually got a job that paid more and Mary got her job back. The pair was optimistic about the future, and once the aftermath of the war died down they decided it was time to try for at child.

This is when Maisie was born. She didn't make it easy on her parents either. Maisie was a fussing finicky baby who would have driven those with the patience of saints absolutely crazy. The parents got through it and Maisie mellowed out a bit as a toddler. This is when Mary had her second child, Ellie, and few years later she was followed by Alfie.

While Ellie got into the crayons and Alfie gurgled away, Maisie sometimes acted like a miniature adult. She went to a muggle school when she was old enough. She did her studies well, but there was a few notes sent home of her inability to play with others. And she went to Hogwarts when she was eleven. Most children are filled with excitement at the prospect of Hogwarts, but Maisie LIKED her school, and she liked her friends. She didn't want to leave them. She didn't want to leave her house, and she didn't want to leave her brother and sister.

Her parents were right though. She sent a couple of homesick letters home, but she adjusted well to Hogwarts. She made friends, and she did well in her studies. She then discovered Quidditch. And she discovered it in a huge way. She'd heard the matches on the wireless her father would listen to, but this was the first time she'd seen a game. It was love at first sight. She checked out the books and wanted to know everything she could.

She tried out her second year with little success. In fact her trial bordered on ridiculous, but with hard practice she was added as a reserve to the team her third year, and eventually got to start her fourth. She played the position of chaser for the Hufflepuff team during her fourth, fifth, and sixth years.

Overall, Maisie had a relatively good relationship with her parents, but she always struggled a bit to connect to them. They really weren't expecting the rather blunt and independent daughter they got, and Maisie always tried to act like she didn't need them because of her pride.

While at Hogwarts Maisie's favorite classes where the ones that came naturally to her. She even opted to take Transfiguration and Charms as NEWTS instead of History of Magic mainly because she felt like she taught herself the entire course. Maisie wasn't lazy. She just preferred to spend her time on things that weren't constantly school.
War Involvements:
Mary and Reginald recognized the pattern of a second war starting based on the events of the first one. People were disappearing around them. As a result they were naturally extremely worried about their family. Overall, Mary felt alright sending her children to Hogwarts. That is until things really hit the fan.

Mary's brother and his wife were reported missing one day. A few days later when their bodies were found Mary and Reginald were making plans to leave the country. Reginald's sister Olivia had moved to Lyon a while back, and she was making up extra room in her house for her brother and his family.

Mary was happy to have her family safe in France, but she still constantly fretted about the state of England and her friends and neighbors. They children had different reactions to the move. Alfie, who was young, seemed to bounce back. Ellie had a constant worried and depressed mood. It matched Maisie, except that Maisie was much more vocal about her displeasure and anger at their whole situation as she worried about her friends.

The last thing she wanted to do was start another school. Sure enough the children started Beauxbatons. Maisie remained in a sour mood. The French sucked. Her dorm mates weren't cool (although looking back they probably wondered why a random girl was there in the last year of school). The food was weird, and in her opinion the French were RUBBISH at Quidditch.

The nail in the coffin so to speak was when Ellie began to make friends. It was good. Ellie was always a social creature, but Maisie couldn't help to be jealous that she lucked out with at least one cool roommate.

However Maisie was young and brash and she did start seeing a boy. A boy she thought got her, but one that her parents didn't particularly like, and probably with good reason, at least for them. Adrien was her sounding board, and he was a bit like her. Except he really didn't like school at all, and he was a really bad stereotype of a bohemian artist. He knew she wasn't happy, and that's when he found an opportunity. After a particularly bad couple of seasons the Quiberon Quafflepunchers were having a rare open tryout to try and bring in some fresh blood. Best thing it would coincide with early Christmas break. Maisie was just going to tryout just to have an excuse to practice and get on a broom again.

Mary and Reginald were alright when it was trying out. Uneasy? True, but they were fine. It was when Maisie actually made the team as a reservist the tune changed. They were adamant she finish school. Maisie was stubborn and convinced she'd be joining the team for a long practice season in late January. Mary was convinced this was Adrien's bad influence, and Maisie brought up that she was miserable where she was and that she was an adult and they wouldn't stop her. There was a row, but Maisie didn't leave. The family had a fairly good holiday though. Everyone was convinced the other party would change their minds. In the New Year Maisie got a flat with Adrien, and they both left school. In retrospect it was a really, really stupid thing to do.

Adrien and Maisie, as expected, didn't last long, but remained roommates. It was probably the only mature break up she ever had. Maisie was lonely though. She missed her sister, and her parents, and although there was only a couple of months of mutual silent treatment and then forgiveness on all sides, Maisie still felt a divide there.

The war ended and Maisie just wanted to go back to Britain. She missed home. She missed her friends; she missed the weather. Her and her family had made up, and they wished to remain, and her quidditch career was going solid but slow. She had even played in a couple of games. She didn't want to leave yet.

But when she was able to secure a trade to Britain she jumped at the chance. She left for Britain about six months before her family.

Since then she's been on the reserve team for Puddlemere United, ruing the fact that she hasn't gotten to play in a major game yet, even though she thinks she's pretty awesome. And spending time with her friends and family.
